The Studio
Elevated Designs is a boutique interior design studio based in Barrie, Ontario, serving clients across South Simcoe, Muskoka, and the GTA.
Each project—whether a full-scale renovation or a single-room refresh—is approached with intention. The goal is simple: to create spaces that feel effortless, refined, and deeply personal.

Germaine brings a rare balance to her work: a trained designer’s eye paired with a deeply intuitive, people-first approach. She listens carefully, asks thoughtful questions, and designs with purpose—considering not just how a space looks, but how it feels to live in. For Germaine, design is where her two worlds meet: creating something beautiful and showing up for people in a meaningful way. It’s work rooted in both intention and care.
And after all the years it took to get here, she wouldn’t change a thing.
MEET YOUR DESIGNER
Germaine Vella
Before becoming a designer, Germaine built a career as a first responder.
For 18 years, she worked in policing as a 911 dispatcher—showing up with calm, precision, and care in moments that mattered most. It’s a chapter she’s deeply proud of, and one that continues to shape the way she leads her studio today.
Creativity, however, was always part of the story.
At 24, she renovated her first home and discovered a lasting connection to the process of transforming a space. Over the years, that creativity found its way into everything—from sewing custom curtains and pillows to painting, crafting, and building. Making things beautiful was never just a hobby. It was instinct.
In 2017, she made it official.
While still working full-time, Germaine returned to school to earn her design diploma. She began collaborating with designers across North America, refining her skills in design, drafting, and renderings. As her experience grew, so did her presence—local clients began finding her, referrals followed, and the work naturally evolved into something bigger.
In 2021, she retired from policing and stepped fully into her design career.
